BridgeCare and JobBliss Receive $100K Grants to Focus Efforts on Workforce Training

After a tough year for the job market—and a tough time for families who lost incomes—two startups focused on workforce training have received grants of $100,000 from the Michelson 20MM Foundation.

The foundation partnered with venture firm Village Capital, the Autodesk Foundation, the Lumina Foundation, and AT&T to create the Future of Work & Learning accelerator program for startups that are helping adults improve their lives through workforce-development solutions, such as alternative credentialing, upskilling, and reskilling.

The winning startups, after a peer-review selection process, were:

  • BridgeCare, an AI-powered childcare locator

  • JobBliss, a team-management platform for a company’s freelance and contract workforce

Both startups are led by women, highlighting the Michelson 20MM Foundation’s commitment to supporting female founders.

“We are grateful to the Village Capital program for surfacing and shepherding along such a solid cohort of startups, each redefining the future of work landscape,” says Dr. Gary K. Michelson, founder of the Michelson 20MM Foundation.

Village Capital announced the winners and featured the full Future of Work & Learning 2019 cohort on its website. Read Village Capital’s coverage.
